Maria – Liliana Saru was born in Romania on the 30/08/1984. She studied Chemistry at the Babes - Bolyai University of Cluj - Napoca (Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering). She joined in 2007 the "Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania" where she successfully completed 1 year of postgraduate studies, obtained her Master degree and worked for 2 years as a Laboratory Assistant. She analyzed food products (meet & dietary products, olive oil, wine and vinegar) by using different analytical techniques: UV spectroscopy, HPLC, GC, ICP-OAS. Since December 2009 she works with Technical University of Crete (the Department of Environmental Engineering) as Laboratory Officer, Research Assistant and Analyst at the "Laboratory of Hydrogeochemical Engineering and Soil Remediation". Her axes of activity are: chemical analyses of water, wastewater and soil by using ICP-MS, Spectrophotometers, CE, microwave digestor and TN/TC analyzer.
